lyrics

Sat by the window under a diminished tree,
My thoughts gather in the park where our two river meet,
There I spotted a friend from school,
A pale face disgrace,
Pointed at a needle on the floor as his excuse.

Bone idle he hadn’t seen a day of work since he was in teens,
Still thinking he was the class fool he tried to make me laugh,
He made me cry.

It makes my blood scream to see him like this
But I’m not so quick to hand out the death sentence,
Like some people seem to be,
Yet idolise fallen celebrities,
Yet this is how it seem to be,
Unfortunately.

A few weeks later in the bus stop by the cemetery,
I saw a figure black,
Started dropping tears in memory,
To avoid the situation I followed the leaves,
Through the park along the river bank,
Past the junkies and the broken dreams.

In the pub the other day,
I met my old friend,
He said he’d changed his ways,
In hope of recovery I bought him a drink
And prayed that he’d stay clean.

So I’ll decide who’s simply worthless,
When each have our own personal afflictions,
That can or cannot be unwound,
Before they twist and turn you
And drag you to the ground,

But that’s how it seems to be unfortunately...

Timeless, immediate, and utterly vital Dead Shed Jokers are a rare beast at once original and yet somehow not of this time

Shine DSJ through a big prism and you would see a modern rock spectrum refracted; occasional Nick Cave-isms, Queens Of The Stone Age swagger, huge post-Zeppelin riffs and dramatic vocals all adding up to a pure headbanger’s delight
